Who we are
ValueSnap (valuesnap.ai) helps you identify second-hand items from photos, estimate their resale value, and list them for sale. Questions about this policy: [email protected].
What we collect
- Account information — your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash), or your name and email if you sign in with Google.
- Photos and item details — the photos, barcodes, notes, prices, and storage locations you add for your items.
- eBay connection data— if you connect an eBay account: the authorization tokens eBay issues, your eBay username, your listing and offer details, and order information for items you sell (which can include a buyer's eBay username).
- Usage data — credit balances and a log of the research and listing actions your account performs, used for billing and abuse prevention.
- Session cookie — a single essential cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
To run the product: identify and price your items, generate listings, create and manage eBay listings you ask us to create, sync sold-order status, meter credits, and provide support. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers we share data with
- AI analysis — your item photos and notes are sent to our AI provider to identify the product and estimate its value.
- Photo storage — item photos are stored with a cloud storage/CDN provider. Photo URLs are publicly reachable so that listing platforms and the AI can fetch them; the URLs are not listed publicly or guessable in bulk.
- eBay — when you connect eBay and create listings, the listing content you approve (title, description, photos, price, item specifics) is sent to eBay under your eBay account.
- Email delivery — transactional email (account and support messages) is sent through an email delivery provider.
Each provider receives only what it needs to perform its function.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and its data, email [email protected]from your account email. If an eBay user deletes their eBay account, we honor eBay's account-deletion notifications and erase the personal data we hold about that eBay user.
Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and eBay access is held via revocable OAuth tokens — you can disconnect eBay at any time from your eBay account settings.
Children
ValueSnap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Continued use of ValueSnap after a change means you accept the updated policy.
